Sebastian and Bahar for Moevir Magazine, Sanctuary.

I love working with people who love what they do. Sebastian and Bahar are my kind of people because they do, they love what they do. This spread was shot at my favourite studio Doris Land. I recently learned that the studio is named after the grandmother of the fabulous human who runs it for us. Thanks for making it such a sanctuary for us Alex.

I am a bit jittery because I am excited to share this post, I am writing it on my Birthday and will publish it later this month. It’s so special to me, they are both one’s to watch so please do.

Huge thanks to Roll Up Magazine Issue #28 Volume 3 for printing this spread of my images in the studio.

This line is constructed of Levi’s I picked up from a thrift store in the Summer of 2022. 100 pairs for $1 each. I did embroider some and silk screened on others and when my hands got sore I started to pull them apart and figure out how to make other pieces of clothing out of them. I mined a heap of patterns from Pinterest, printed them, pieced them together and then started to cut and sew the denim. I broke many needles and stabbed myself many times with pins and when I was at a loss as to how to make something I had an idea for Samantha was there to help. I have so much gratitude for everyone who helped me bring this to life.

A collection of 18 outfits hit the runway on May 21, and it was a blast.

Alex in my designs.

One of the amazing things I get to do is work with people I love working with on a regular basis.

Alex and I connected a few years back and have been making magic together ever since,

For this shoot, I used my up-cycled designs and we shot in the studio.

The editorial was featured in Issue 28, Volume 16 of Selin magazine and it’s called Alex in Design.

This collection is hitting the runway on May 21 and I can’t wait to see what the reaction will be.

My hand made up-cycled denim collection.

Last summer I got my hand on 100 pairs of vintage Levi’s for $1 each and I got to work.

I started to embroider them and silk screen them too.

Then my hands got sore and the piles of denim weren’t shrinking so I thought about what I could do with them. I started to take the pants apart and decides to make clothing with the pieces. I found patterns on Pinterest and started sewing. A lot less labour-intensive for my hands and I had a lot of fun. This project kept me busy for the first two months of the year and now I have an opportunity to show the entire collection in a fashion show in April.

Stay tuned for details. In the meantime, huge thanks to Jared, Gia and Lauren for modelling for me in the studio one Sunday at the beginning of March. Special thanks to Courtney at Key Models for helping me bring this project to life.
